Differences between

Notary Public vs. Justice of the peace

In Australia, a Notary Public authenticates international documents, specialising in matters involving foreign jurisdictions. Conversely, a Justice of the Peace (JP) is usually a local volunteer, certifying copies and witnessing documents for community members.

JPs focus on domestic, not international, legal matters.
